Do not submit sensitive information
The website scan and inquiry form are intended for preliminary business information. Do not submit passwords, banking credentials, complete financial records, government identifiers, health information, confidential client files, or other sensitive material through the public form.
Service providers and transfers
Cloudflare provides website hosting, database storage, traffic security, and related infrastructure. Resend provides delivery of requested scan results and operational email. When a visitor allows analytics, Google Analytics 4 provides aggregate website traffic and interaction measurement, and Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and privacy-masked session recordings. Better Hours may also use professional service providers when reasonably required to operate the business. These providers receive only the information required for their function and may process it in Canada, the United States, or another jurisdiction in which they operate. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
Cookies and website measurement
Better Hours uses limited first-party measurement to understand page views, general traffic source, campaign labels, device class, internal link and scan-button clicks, scan progression, validation errors, and requested email-delivery outcomes. This information is used to improve the website and identify where visitors encounter friction.
The website assigns a random temporary session identifier in browser session storage so activity within one visit can be counted without identifying the visitor. It expires when the browser session ends. If a visitor selects “Allow analytics,” Google Analytics 4 is loaded to measure aggregate traffic sources, page views, calls to action, and the same non-sensitive scan-funnel events. Microsoft Clarity is also loaded to measure clicks, scrolling, navigation, device and browser information, heatmaps, and session replays. The entire time-recovery scan panel, including fields, selections, email entry, and calculated results, is masked from Clarity recordings. Google Signals, advertising storage, ad personalization, and cross-site advertising are disabled. Email addresses, form answers, scan values, and the website's temporary session identifier are not sent to Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity.
The analytics choice is saved in browser local storage. Visitors who decline continue to have full access to the website. The choice can be reset by clearing this website's stored browser data.
AI and automated processing
Sensitive information is not placed into consumer chat tools. If an external AI service is proposed for client work, the information involved, provider, purpose, retention controls, and security boundaries are disclosed and approved before use.
Retention and deletion
- Scan and inquiry records are deleted or anonymized within 24 months after the inquiry or most recently recorded contact unless they become part of a client relationship or must be retained for a legal purpose.
- First-party website measurement events, website security records, and rate-limit records are scheduled for deletion within 90 days unless they are needed to investigate abuse, a security incident, or a legal claim.
- Client, contractual, accounting, and payment records may be kept for up to seven years after the relationship ends, or longer when a legal hold or other requirement applies.
- Backups are protected and age out according to the applicable provider's normal backup cycle.
Protection
Better Hours uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access limitation, approved processing boundaries, and security controls provided by its infrastructure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask Better Hours what personal information it holds about you, request access to or correction of that information, ask how it has been used or disclosed, or request deletion where no legal or contractual retention requirement applies. A request may require reasonable identity verification before information is disclosed or changed.
